Managers were either nice but disorganized and stressful, or severe and incommunicative. Both scenarios involve you being super bored and trying to find something to do for the next - more.įound it incredibly frustrating to solve problems or get questions answered with HR. Sometimes the job can be “too easy”, so much so to the point where you might end up completing your work really fast and early during your shift or the store might not be super busy at all and all the shelves/tables are completely stocked. You also get multiple 10min breaks and one 30min lunch break. The more days you work, the bigger the check. It’s $13hr with tax and is weekly-paying. And sometimes you’d be able to eat or take home products that are considered either damaged, discontinued, or soon-to expire. They leave out snacks like donuts, cookies, muffins, chips, etc in the break room pretty much almost every day. Sometimes I’d buy my own groceries from there on some days. The stores products themselves (mostly the produce, meat and frozen stuff) is pretty great and fresh. Most days it’s just a simple “Hi or Good morning” and they keep it pushing until their shift is done. Pretty good work culture and if you’re kinda an introvert (at least from my experience) most employees are very friendly but won’t try to too overly talkative as they’re just there to get their job done too. The store is very small and you get employee discounts. The employees/managers were all really kind, understanding and helpful. The training starting out was very simple and straightforward. Working in produce was a piece a cake for me.
